RWA Tokenization Market To Reach $16T by 2030, Skynet Report Says

The tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) is poised to become a $16 trillion market by 2030, according to Skynet's 2025 RWA Security Report. Institutional collaboration with decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms is fueling this growth, with tokenized U.S. Treasuries alone projected to hit $4.2 billion this year.

Short-term government bonds dominate current activity, but the scope is broadening. Major financial institutions and blockchain-native firms are leveraging RWA products for yield optimization and liquidity management. Asset classes like private credit, trade finance, and money market funds are increasingly migrating on-chain.

Regulatory frameworks in Hong Kong, Singapore, and the U.S. are creating pathways for institutional participation. However, the report cautions that scaling to $16 trillion will require addressing risks across asset custody, legal compliance, and smart contract security layers.
